Message Re: A few questions
Zach told me about making shadows, but i forgot how to do i think. But i will add Shadow under the Super Jumps. :)

I am glad about your eagerness. But remember that this is only my first track made in 3ds max. There is alot of bugs (i tried to cover them the best i could of course) even though Zach helped me (thank you Zach) fix some of them.

EDIT: Btw, i just wanted to say that most of all my textures are either modified or directly made from scratch. Thank you. :P
EDIT2: No matter if i have everything selected or not, nothing happens when i hit "7" (not numpad).

About your Edit#2 : Weird ! Try to right-click onto the view name (top-left corner inside of the view window) and enable Statistics. This should done the trick.

Now to add shadows just try this :
Select your object, right-click and open the object properties, then enable vertex channel display : vertex color (disable shaded mode).
Now go to the modifiers panel and select vertex editing mode (I assume your object is converted to Editable Mesh/Poly). You may notice that there is a Edit vertex colors tab. Select a vertex and change its color. Now you can add a little touch of magic into your track. :)
You can also change vertices colors by selecting the poly edit mode, but smooth shadows would be better in this track.

If it's a huge surface with lot of vertices you can add the Vertex paint modifier and play with it.

I think you can find other tricks with this until I write a better tutorial.

I can't find the "Statistics", so i can't really enable. I went to the Perspective window, right clicked on the top-left text ("Perspective") but didn't see the "Statistics" anywhere. Then i tried to look under "Configure" but i didn't find it there, either. Please explain to me where exactly, so i can find it. I use 3ds max 8 :)

Well I use 3ds 9 or 3ds 2008 actually and I don't know if this cool feature was already implemented into previous releases.
I'll try to start adding tutorials soon.

Before I know this feature here's what I did :

Select all geometry in your scene then apply an Edit Mesh modifier on it. Then you can choose triangle editing mode and select all polygons of all the selected objects. This way you can see how much triangles are in your scene. ;)

Hm, I cant really count that way either. I can't find the number.

Anyways, I was driving City Road and saw the water in the pipe, which uses the animated water object. On my track i use a whole BMP file for the water texture, but if i could spare there it would be great. Do you think i can reach an ok quality even though i will use 2 Water Objects to fill the flood with water?

All is matter of testing.

Also, it's your track, you choose ;)

I placed alot of trees and reached about 43046 Polygons overall, and about 8500 polygons collision. Heres a screenshot from top.

As you see above, there is 2-3 places that needs some trees, but after that the tree-placement is totally done :)
I am planning that i am going to insert vines around and then MOH is currently working on a jeep which will come soon (i hope :P ).

Great job, but polycount is way to high for the Re-Volt engine.
I don't know if you've already tested it in game but I guess you should try before to add other trees.
If your track looks good but is totally unplayable you may be disappointed.

Try to add rocks or something like that to hide some parts of the track while playing, so you'll be able to add more visiboxes.

Remember that a poly isn't a triangle, but when you will export the track, all polys will be converted to triangles. 8000polys equals about 16000triangles, wich is the limit for collision.
As far as I know, a track with about 30000triangles is a very big one and needs a lot of visiboxes. You say you reached 43000polys, wich mean about 86000triangles.
Test it ingame before going further.
Well, it's a council. ;)

Good luck again.

When i say "Polygons" i actually mean "Faces" and isn't that a triangle? Adamodell told me that a Face was the same as a polygon in revolt, and the triangle edit mode is called "Faces" too, so i guess i still didnt reach the maximum yet. I don't get any Warnings from ASE2W yet. :)

On my PC the FPS is between 60 and 57 (sometimes 51 when i got my anti-virus scanning in background), so a computer with less Ram than 4GB would probaly have an OK FPS Rate too. I know it's not only the RAM that counts, but i think all new computers should be able to handle this, also the Re-Volt Engine does everything fine. I will add as many visiboxes as i can. I will also add more rocks, maybe bigger rocks will be a good idea too. :^^:
